A consumer notice is essential before initiating any proceedings under the Consumer Protection Act 1986. Although no format or mandate of a consumer protection notice is prescribed. It is however followed and the format from the common civil law is adopted.

A consumer notice should be issued to the service provider or the shop or the company from whom the goods or services have been purchased. The consumer notice should contain the specific details of the goods and services purchased.

The consumer notice should also contain the documentary proof in support of the purchase of state goods and services. Consumer notice should also contain the specific price of the goods and services.

The consumer notice should also contain the specific details of the deficiency of defects of the goods purchased. The consumer notice should also contain the details of the losses suffered or incurred by the consumer.

The service of the consumer notice can be through email or through registered post. The proof of delivery of the notice should also be obtained.

The Consumer notice should specifically mention the time for removing the deficiency or for rectifying the deficiency in the goods and services. The loss suffered should be clearly stated in the consumer notice.

The court fees based on the value of the complaint is to be attached along with the consumer complaint.

The schedule of fees as prescribed under the law is as under:

Up to Rs 1 lakh: Rs 100
Between Rs 1-5 lakh: Rs 200
Between Rs 5-10 lakh: Rs 400
Above Rs 10 lakh and up to Rs 20 lakh: Rs 500

The fees is to be paid by way of DD or Pay Order in the name of the President.

VIth Step of how to file a consumer complaint?

    I went to a Job consultancy on Nov-2015 and they asked me Fee 2000 for Job searching and I gave it then again they asked extra money after somedays and said there is another good job for me. And I paid and Its become Rs10,000 within 1015 days and not showed job. I called them every day and they not responded correctly and not showed job. I went to there Office and no use. After 6 months I asked return my money. They gave a date and not returned money. And after some months they called me and Asked to help them for one Jobmela conducting. I went there and helped them. Then onwards my bad time started. They said to me , you also pay some amount and there is a Govt. Contract job and pay 10,000 only You already paid 10k. Remaining 10k pay after Joining in the Job from salary.
    But they said first one and took amount heavy and it reached 70,000. And not showed job for many months.
    After some months I sent them noticed and approached District legal service. They not came to first time phasi. And Hon’ble Judge sent them SAMAN via local PS. Then she called me and return your case and I will give money within month. But after I Returned my case she not obey her words.
    After some notice sent to them for giving information to approaching Forum… Her one person entered in this matter and gave me 2 months to totally repay. But he took me nearly 2 years and Paid 5k, 10k for some months and Paid Lastly 30,000 only. I worked at their office for 3 months and asked them for 2.5 months salary but they not paid that also.
    Please Help me in this matter.
